20040128 A graduate of the University of Connecticut at Storrs, Cheryl received her B.A. in French and Spanish along with her M.A. and Ph.D. (ABD) in French Literature. She has more than 25 years of experience in teaching both children and adults, including English as a Second Language, Executive English Programs for international business, and French. In addition to her expertise in designing individualized language programs, Cheryl has often been involved in local family programs, creating The Needham Kids Theater, serving 8 years as a board member for the Newton WarmLines Parent Resource Network and as Co-President of Needham Community Theatre. She now helps students prepare for the PSAT, SAT, and SAT-II in Writing, Literature, and French. The Director of CHYTEN Educational Services where she has been tutoring for the past 5 yrs. posted this on their website "Cheryl is the friendly teacher you remember from High School, the one you always went to when you needed extra help. She is upbeat and expressive, thorough and professional." She has lived in Needham, MA since 1980 with her husband, Michael, software engineer (Weaver alum Class of '65). Their 18 year old son, Ben,.a guitarist, will enter Berklee College of Music, Boston, in Sept. '04, while their 22 yr. old daughter, Whitney (Brandeis '03), has recently performed with the Charleston Stage (SC), New Repertory Theatre (MA), continuing her Musical Theatre Career begun at age 6.
